Research
I have never done so much research for a single story than I have in "Sketches." It's insane. I mean, I guess I feel a little bit proud and professional doing all this research and work for this novel. But then, abusing wikipedia probably isn't all that professional at all...
So... here's a (probably incomplete) list of all the things I researched for "Sketches of a Lonely City."
1. Sydney
2. Population of Sydney
3. Sydney CBD
4. Railway system in Sydney
5. The HSC
6. Bars/Pubs
7. Opening times at Bars ( how much is "till late" anyway?)
8. Alcohol
9. Tequila
10. Scotch
11. Magic Tricks
12. Sleight of Hand
13. Flair Bartending
14. Illicit Drugs
15. Illegal Drug Trade
16. MDMA
17. Heroin
18. Crystal Meth
19. Access to aforementioned illicit drugs in Australia
20. Hookers
21. Different systems under which aforementioned Hookers operate
23. Entertainment/Music Industry
24. Information brokers.
25. Information broker-ing.
26. Major Depression
27. Suicide
28. Injuries caused by glass breakage and accidents.
And they think I don't work in school, huh? I work a lot harder than you all think!!
