Girlfriend

I washed and combed your hair today
And then I took you home
Forgot to lock the door again
You didn’t say a word
The silence it disturbed you
The cool air made you freeze
So I wrapped us up in blankets
And kissed you on the cheek

But even though I washed you
And you were soft and clean
Your toes were purple bruises
Your fingers grey and dim
The smell was overwhelming
The tears came to my eyes
So I held you as I promised:
“I’ll bury you tonight.”

(It's been 6 months and i still don't have anything to say, so have some really old poetry from 2013.)
